Product Description

A simple and easy-to-use bristle worm trap that is effective in getting rid of small to medium-sized bristle worms in saltwater tanks. This patent-pending trap consists of a base with a bait chamber, and three rods that can be screwed together to form a long handle. You can conveniently submerged the trap and guide it to any location in your tank without getting your hands wet. The trap has four funnels specifically designed for bristle worms to enter one way in, and is very difficult to leave the trap. Simply add small amount of bait like dried/frozen mysis or krill shrimp in the chamber and place it very close to the area where the bristle worms have been seen. The rounded base is gentle enough to rest on rocks and some corals. For best results, we recommend having a tank with a good water flow and set the trap overnight for 4-12 hours without lights. This trap can extend up to 24.5" (including base). Extension rods can be purchased separately through Amazon for larger tanks that are over 24" in height. For a limited time, a free small 3.78 in. x 1.5 in. trap included for smaller tanks.

Some decent design considerations, but doesn't really work
I like that it's a dense plastic that sinks without the use of additional rockks or sand. I also like that the bait container secures the bait and keeps the bristle worms from just feasting on it. I don't like that very few worms entered, and even fewer stayed around. I saw 2 worms enter, and only 1 was still there when I removed the trap.I made a DIY trap that I baited with pellets and it wasn't that effective. I got this trap and baited it with raw shrimp and got such a massive bristle feeding response (worms poking their heads out of every nook and cranny) that I decided to retry my DIY trap with raw shrimp as well. To make it fair, I did a side-by-side comparison. I baited my DIY trap with raw shrimp and I baited this trap with raw shrimp and waited about 3 hours (about 3 PM to 6 PM). In that time this trap caught 1 bristle worm, and the DIY trap caught about 9. I repeated the process overnight. I saw 1 worm in this trap before bed-time, but by the time I got up it had escaped. My DIY trap had another 7 bristle worms in it.So in about 15 hours, this trap had removed 1 worm while my DIY trap had removed about 15+. I'd recommend getting an old tubberware, some 1/4" RODI tube, some bio media, and some superglue and making your own.

This is by far the best trapper I’ve used to capture bristle worms. They were taking over my tank and I’ve removed over 200 worms if not more. The price is a bit high, but it’s well worth it. It just works... highly recommend this product to all fellow reefers. The add on attachment is a plus. With the ones that were included were sufficient for my needs.

There isn't much to say about this item other than it's expensive. If I was on a budget I definitely would have made my own out of a water bottle and some straws. That being said, the only thing to really say about this trap is what works best for bait. I tried using some frozen clams which didn't have very much success. I found a piece of fresh shrimp overnight nabbed about 20 worms. I read about using the floss to hinder the worms from getting to the bait to fast and leaving the trap, but it didn't work for me. Just a piece of raw bait.

This is a great trap. I have used it for about 2 months now and it really works good. If you use the right bait, will catch more than you expected. It was really a trial at first to find the right food to put in it, but using fresh shrimp or brine shrimp seems to work the best for me. I usually can count 4 or 5 every night. I had a really bad infestation and this has really helped to clear the numbers down. Might drill 2 of the tubs out a little bigger to try to catch the bigger ones.

Bought this to the help control my bristleworm population but had absolutely no luck with this product. After a month of trying different foods constantly checking to see if maybe the worms were entering and leaving the trap I decided to purchase a bristleworm trap from Printed Reef and wow within an hour it already had worms inside. I personally would not recommend this specific trap.

I’ve caught 21 bristleworms in the last week - three nights of trying with this wonderful trap. I had no clue I had that many.

I had just bought some frozen silversides for my RBTA and tried one of those in the trap last night. I caught eight before the lights even shut off! Three more overnight that were still in the trap this morning.

They can crawl back out of the trap though so try and check it a few times before bed and first thing before the lights come back on.

    Very impressed.
